London has always given us - thanks God -good dosis of innovation, creativity, transgression, controversy, polemic.
Designed by people at Wolff Ollins, the London’s 2012 Olympic Games official logo’s supposed to be the numbers 2-0-1-2 and it’s designed to appeal to today’s internet generation, says the organising committee.
We want your opinion, kids. Were the designers high on soma? Or it’s just a straight way of breaking the tradition?
Please, post a comment. Have your say!
Btw, we loved it!

Hi Dea,
I saw this logo in a very interesting article about logo design trends for 2008 and there this logo is classified as “The ugly 80’s ” an style that stands out just because is hmmm different.
Well, I have to say, aesthetically this logo surely broke the tradition, its totally the opposite of that “swooshy”, clean, athletic, healthy style, it is sometimes annoying to see, but as you said this logo represents this spirit of controversy and polemic, that can represent the city itself.
In my personal opinion this kind off logo fits better in a x-games than in an olympic games, or maybe I’m not this generation internet…
very cool post
Hey mates… I think the logo is a fantastic 80’s revival piece… for those like me, who got to experience it, you can’t deny the appeal… but it really generates a lot of controversy around town… people usually tend to hate more than love.. a lot more that is…
cheers
B
