…and that’s why it’s called minimal.

The biggest trend for this year, as far as we realise, is a non-shopping, non-spending, non-showing-off spirit.
For example: take a look at the dresses the celebrities wore on the red carpet at the Golden Globe, last week. A wind of simplicity, a minimalistic air, lots of fabric and little embroidery or stuff that go bling-bling.
All in addition to what the kaiser Lagerfeld boldly declared: “BLING, BLING IS DEAD!”
Luxury is more than ever an ATTITUDE, a natural politeness. Savoir-vivre and sofistication come from within, ma cher! Where else the good sense of not burning money in such a critical moment could come from?
The FRUGAL FUTURE is the next big thing. We foresee a BIG change in behaviour and values. People, finally, seem to be looking at what really matters.
We pay our homage to this beautiful migration to simplicity with Zero7′s inspiring Throw it All Away.
BE CHIC. BE SIMPLE. BE YOURSELF.
This is the way many supermarkets and other retail centres have found to decrease the production of plastic bags./ Esta é a forma como alguns supermercados e outros centros de varejo encontraram para diminuir a produção de sacolas plásticas.
So… next time you go shopping, bring with you your own shopping bag. This is a cute and very fashionable attitude!!! / Então… da próxima vez que for às compras, leve sua própria sacola. Esta atitude é bonita e superrrr fashion!!!
A word from someone who’s been to London’s, Madrid’s, São Paulo’s, Barcelona’s (which we’re pretty sure was named by mistake…) and, of course, to the mother of all on our beloved white isle.
PACHA FLORIPA TRULY HAS THE PACHA SPIRIT!
Stylish gogos, convincing performances, high quality sound system, international crowd (ok, almost there, hey?), even the visuals and the infamous white walls tells it all. In the absence of El Cielo, they give us a funky terrace, half open air. We only miss out that “persona”, the afro-english promoter and Graham Sahara in the mix!
Tomorrow, Sander Kleinenberg, last week Sandy Rivera and D-nox and Beckers, next week David Guetta and so it goes… not too bad, hum?
By the way, has Floripa been totally taken over by gringos or is it just our impression? Italians are even selling bijoux on the beach!!! Que fuerte!
Great food by local Chez Raymond, perfect atmosphere, fantastic music, amazing crowd and definitely the best vibe in Southern Brazil on New Year’s Eve. Warung, as if it was possible, is getting better each and every year.
Differently from those posh and showing-off clubs in Florianópolis, the balinese temple at Itajaí’s Praia Brava is where cool people head to if they are in the mood for having a good time with simplicity and essence, caring about nothing but music and involved in a unique vibe.
Paulinho Boghosian gave us “Enjoy the Silence” as the first track of the year and Hernan Cattaneo, 9 hours later, closed the dancefloor telling us what we already know but never get enough of hearing… that… music is the answer… to our problems…
Truly inspiring to kick off the year…
HAPPY 2009, KIDS!
Comidinhas deliciosas do restô local Chez Raymond, atmosfera perfeita, trilha sonora idem, povo do bem, decoração caprichada e definitivamente a melhor vibe do Sul do Brasil no ano novo.
*SinK would like to thank our lovely friends at Warung (Zagonel, Conti and Johnny) for being so LOVELY and so FRIENDS all the time! Obrigada, meninos! We love you!
