In Brasil, Carnival has always been the perfect excuse for all kinds of misbehaviour, so…
…free your mind, release the preasure and let yourself goooooo…. yeepee!!!
Needless to say much about that – you should bare in mind, however, that it’s a continental country.
Therefore:
Carnival in Bahia is very different from
Carnival in Rio which has nothing to do with
Carnival in the South.
We’ll help you out, kids:
Bahia = crap axé music, people in the streets (a lot of people in the streets, millions of people in the streets) “trios-eletricos”, singers and groups on the top of a truck getting the crowd totally insane
Rio = samba schools, the infamous huge parade, some street parties, Banda de Ipanema, traditional costume parties in hotels. Old school kinda Carnival. Cool.
South = electronic parties (no samba whatsoever), packed clubs, top djs everywhere getting the people absolutely insane, Tum ts tum ts tum…
Have a look at what Warung has prepared for the five craziest days on Earth:

And more at Pacha Floripa (Guetta, Morillo, Van Burren and Tocadisco); Green Valley (Morillo, Dave Seaman, Kaskade and Steve Angello) and P12 (Pete Tong and Tocadisco).
Check their webs for more info and have fun!
May the force be with you …
