In response to Miami’s Winter Music Conference, which some people sort of had enough considering to be too-party-little-business-oriented (we love it!) these days, Ibiza hosted its first International Music Summit last June.
It gathered club owners and djs from all over the world for a week of business-focused conversations, information exchange and, of course, dancefloor extravaganza, as it leaded straight into the official opening season.
Based on that…
… and being a country of professional party people, Brazilians have proudly kicked off yesterday its very own dance music world meeting: Rio Music Conference. The place couldn’t be better, our lindo Rio de Janeiro, and the date is the most appropriate possible: three days before Carnival going into the party holiday, of course. The Venue? Fresh and windy Marina da Glória.
Rio, however, is not known for its busy club scene; it’s, in fact, quite the opposite. Rio is beach, Rio is sun, Rio is daylight. Signs of surrender?
Pete Tong, David Guetta, Erick Morillo, Van Burren, Brasil’s finest Gui Boratto, lots of seminars and workshops are lined up for the days that follow. And, of course, loads of parties on and off conference.
