Bikinis are sooo 2009 December 11, 2009

Ed Hardy, Bottega Veneta and many other brands are betting on bodies instead of bikinis for this summer. Nice to wear with loose pants and also jeans.  For next summer, less doesn’t mean more!

Judging by the catwalk shows at Miami Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, Spring/Summer 2010 will be all about one-piece suits.  Miami FW shows traditionally set trends for the next season swimwear styles and designs, so get ready to see less bikinis but more body covering but still sexy and exposing swimsuits.

Pentax cameras are perhaps most heralded for being championed by Vietnam vets after surviving rough weather and the heat of battle, and we’re pretty sure those legends of indestructibility will make  the K-x Series a must-have among nightlife photographers. There are the 100 different styles: 10 color options for the bodies and grips, which can be mixed and matched to your heart’s delight. Whether or not you opt to match your favorite outfit is up to you. The K-x also boasts a nice 12.4 megapixels and HD video, which are fast becoming industry norms for SLRs. Now, all those girls in vintage high-waisted skirts with cameras dangling from their necks can accessorize beyond black and steel. We want it NOW!!!

Thais is our friend December 7, 2009

Our friend of the week is Brazilian living in London Thais Glittah. One stylish and well talented girl.

I am fabulous, of course.
 I live in London.
I do whatever the hell I want.
I listen to people’s opinions – they suck 95% of the time
I love long journeys, so I can read without feeling guilty.
I hate people that hate.
I’d like to see the sun more often.
 I should wake-up earlier.
I’ll never regret anything.
I’ll  take ‘great shoes’ on my trip to Kinderland.

Nude out December 6, 2009

A nova campanha da Adriana Barra “Nude Out” é, no mínimo, engraçadinha. Nada mais coerente para quem vive de estampas (lindas, por sinal) gongar o nude. A gente adora porque é criativa, a irreverente e bem-humorada.

Aliás, a maison que ela acabou de abrir na Alameda Franca em São Paulo é tudo e mais um pouco!

Richly.Hawtin December 2, 2009

Richie Hawtin and fashion designer Isolde Richly present their own fashion label, Richly.Hawtin, which explores the principles of minimalist design, where, according to both,  fashion and music overlap. It was established in Tokyo in 2008 by Richie and Isolde, inspired by their shared love of Japanese culture and design and the harmony found within.

The origin of the project stretches back 6 years to a chance meeting at Club d’Visionaire in Berlin where their mutual fascination with Japan quickly developed into a special friendship. In 2007, after studying fashion design in Berlin and graduating with distinction, Isolde Richly moved to Japan to realise her dream.

Hawtin’s globetrotting DJ schedule meant their paths still regularly crossed, but against the highly charged backdrop of Tokyo their brainstorming crystallised into something far more potent and a formal partnership emerged to explore the common ground of their creative minds.

Richly sheds some light on where their tastes merge by highlighting a specific influence on their collaboration; “One thing which was in both our hearts was a photo book by Michael Kenna about Japanese landscapes – All in grey tones.. snow.. a calm sea.. one tree – pictures that reflected an amazing stillness and the magical beauty of nature and it’s this beauty we’ve tried to capture and convert into clothes.”

With a limited run of 100 T-shirts, designed and manufactured in Japan, Richie Hawtin and Isolde Richly launched their fashion line at the Apartment store in Berlin in May 2009.
