Boffices February 7, 2012

Fashion + food November 23, 2010

Apparently fashionistas and foodies are now joining forces. Barneys New York took holiday shoppers on a culinary journey through their “Have a Foodie Holiday” window displays. In a partnership with the Food Network, Cooking Channel and Illy Caffé, the windows feature the “rock stars” of the food world. One window highlights the Bad Boys of Food (Bobby Flay, Jean-Georges Vongerichten and Mario Batali), another displays the Ladies (Paula Deen, Cat Cora, Rachael Ray, and Anita Lo) and a third displays Trailblazers like Julia Child and Jamie Oliver. Insiders say that this collaboration is just one more example of how “the cultural power of food is on the rise”, as we always tell our dear clients!

And more: The famed Japanese photographer Nobuyoshi Araki shot the promotional ads for the window displays, as well as some of the shots that will be featured in stores and the holiday catalog.

On at the Guggenheim in New York, Bilbao, Berlin, and Venice from October 22 to 24, it attracted more then 23.000 videos from around the world. They’re searching for innovative, original and surprising videos. It’s not a search for what’s new, but a search for what’s next.

Our ex-students and ever coolhunters Priscila Jansen and Ronaldo Bellot are in NY and sent over the pics you see below:
