EXCLUSIVE: Inside Blue Coast January 12, 2010

Next Saturday, 16th, Santa Catarina welcomes a brand new superclub, which, alongside with Warung and Green Valley, turns the region into the definitive Brazilian clubbing mecca (not counting São Paulo, of course)  - our version of Ibiza, one not quite originally would say. We say it’s pure tropical clubbing extravaganza, just analyze the clubs’ names. Blue Coast, the new venue we’re talking about, opens its doors with UK duo Layo & Bushwacka! and local heroes Life is a Loop. A club with a view.

Blue Coast is located at the beautiful Estaleirinho beach, between Camboriú and Itapema. Check www.bluecoastclub.com.br for further information on how to get, where to stay, calendar, tickets and more.

Reveillon Boutique December 21, 2009

Reveillon Boutique is the top NYE party in Florianópolis, Santa Catarina, South of Brazil. The party is well-known for its impecable organization and for gathering a high standard crowd every year. Fine gastronomy including sushi, delicatessen and dinner by Bistrô D’Acâmpora – one of Santa Catarina’s best restaurants; open bar serving champagne (of course…), Red Bull, imported vodka and all the fuel you need to kick off the new year with style. Not mentioning the respectful selection of djs, which includes Miguel Migs and Dennis Ferrer to name but a few. Any doubts it’s the place to be if you’re around?

Visit www.reveillonboutique.com.br for a virtual tour and further info on accommodation, price, attractions, etc..

Happy anniversary to our favourite dancefloor! November 5, 2009

Mighty Warung celebrates 7 years absolutely consolidated as Brazil’s top  dancefloor for  music-oriented clubbers. Randoms? Erm…No, thanks. The world’s best djs restlessly praise the half-in-the-jungle half-on-the-beach dancefloor. Useless to describe, gotta see it with your own eyes.

(Mis)behave yourself! Carnival is here! February 11, 2009

In Brasil, Carnival has always been the perfect excuse for all kinds of misbehaviour, so…

…free your mind, release the preasure and let yourself goooooo…. yeepee!!!

Needless to say much about that – you should bare in mind, however, that it’s a continental country.

Therefore:
Carnival in Bahia is very different from
Carnival in Rio which has nothing to do with
Carnival in the South.

We’ll help you out, kids:

Bahia = crap axé music, people in the streets (a lot of people in the streets, millions of people in the streets) “trios-eletricos”, singers and groups on the top of a truck getting the crowd totally insane

Rio = samba schools, the infamous huge parade, some street parties, Banda de Ipanema, traditional costume parties in hotels. Old school kinda Carnival. Cool.

South = electronic parties (no samba whatsoever), packed clubs, top djs everywhere getting the people absolutely insane,  Tum ts tum ts tum…

Have a look at what Warung has prepared for the five craziest days on Earth:

Carnival @ Warung
And more at Pacha Floripa (Guetta, Morillo, Van Burren and Tocadisco); Green Valley (Morillo, Dave Seaman, Kaskade and Steve Angello) and P12 (Pete Tong and Tocadisco).

Check their webs for more info and have fun!

May the force be with you … :-D

It’s like Ibiza, but different… January 9, 2009

A word from someone who’s been to London’s, Madrid’s, São Paulo’s, Barcelona’s (which we’re pretty sure was named by mistake…) and, of course, to the mother of all on our beloved white isle.

PACHA FLORIPA TRULY HAS THE PACHA SPIRIT!

Stylish gogos, convincing performances, high quality sound system, international crowd (ok, almost there, hey?), even the visuals and the infamous white walls tells it all. In the absence of El Cielo, they give us a funky terrace, half open air. We only miss out that “persona”, the afro-english promoter and Graham Sahara in the mix!

Tomorrow, Sander Kleinenberg, last week Sandy Rivera and D-nox and Beckers, next week David Guetta and so it goes… not too bad, hum?

By the way, has Floripa been totally taken over by gringos or is it just our impression? Italians are even selling bijoux on the beach!!! Que fuerte!

Punta? Floripa? Trancoso? No, no, no… January 7, 2009

Great food by local Chez Raymond, perfect atmosphere, fantastic music, amazing crowd and definitely the best vibe in Southern Brazil on New Year’s Eve.  Warung, as if it was possible, is getting better each and every year.

Differently from those posh and showing-off clubs in Florianópolis, the balinese temple at Itajaí’s Praia Brava is where cool people head to if they are in the mood for having a good time with simplicity and essence, caring about nothing but music and involved in  a unique vibe.

Paulinho Boghosian gave us “Enjoy the Silence” as the first track of the year and Hernan Cattaneo, 9 hours later, closed the dancefloor telling us what we already know but never get enough of hearing… that… music is the answer… to our problems…

Truly inspiring to kick off the year…

HAPPY 2009, KIDS! :)

Comidinhas deliciosas do restô local Chez Raymond, atmosfera perfeita, trilha sonora idem, povo do bem, decoração caprichada e definitivamente a melhor vibe do Sul do Brasil no ano novo.

*SinK would like to thank our lovely friends at Warung (Zagonel, Conti and Johnny) for being so LOVELY and so FRIENDS all the time! Obrigada, meninos! We love you! ;)
