O Ushuaia Beach Hotel é o hot spot de Ibiza este verão. Orgulhoso, cinco estrelas e auto-entitulado “the first party hotel in the world”, o antes decadente hotel em frente à Space deu lugar a um empreendimento massivo e perfeito para pool parties Miami style, que, cá entre nós, nada tem a ver com o verdadeiro espírito ibicenco que nós tanto amamos. Russos por todos os lados (de um vôo semanal Moscou-Ibiza, este ano há sete), champagne com faíscas, uma decoração um pouco non-sense, como animais de plástico e lâmpadas engaioladas fazem parte da experiência. Estivemos na festa da Cadenza Records, label do agora hypado dj Luciano, ou seja a festa hype no lugar hype só poderia ser um hype só. O que nos resta, portanto, é relaxar, curtir e parafrasear Mr. Kleinenberg: THIS IS NOT MIAMI. Ah, comentei sobre a suíte da Pioneer?

Vintage Festival August 5, 2011
A retrô-mania não é uma onda, é um tsunami e por isso resolvemos acrescentar uma aula ao curso de Coolhunting que damos na Lemon School (e que começa dia 19 de setembro – já se inscreveu?) para desvendar essa macrotendência que nos intriga profundamente. Semana passada rolou em Londres o Vintage Festival no Southbank Centre, um espaço cultural super legal que fica nas margens do Tâmisa. Como o nome já diz, o evento é um encontro para celebrar o passado, a estética retrô, os valores, os hábitos, as cores e formas de antigamente – uma verdadeira obsessão da humanidade nos dias de hoje. Deem uma olhada no que rolou por lá:

Blah, who cares about labels when Luciano has taken over Ibiza’s summer with his Vagabundos party every Sunday at Pacha. SinK witnessed a hysterical and packed Pacha shouting his name (Italian-style): “LUCCIÁÁÁÁNOOOO…. LUCCIÁÁÁÁNOOOO….”. Conclusion: when Inditex believes in a trend you get sick of it in, like, 48 hours. Liberty floral is just everywhere! It’s cute and feminine… but it’s tiring. Stripes are classic and cool and we just can’t possibly get enough of Chanel and Audrey Hepburn’s charm.
